Important Notes
Hi guys!
It's that time of year again, after a little time off to relax after BAM we're finishing up the 2009 season with a final ranbat event.
The format will be very similar to last year, and very similar to the normal monthlies.
The difference here is that we'll be continuing the tournament matches through until the end of each tournament, and then creating a new 8 man bracket based on the end of season rankings.
After tallying up the final points for the season we'll place the top 6 ranked players in attendance into the bracket, and then grab 2 additional finalists based on the top placing on the day to round out the top 8.
Those finalists will show down for the on the day prize and medal in front of the crowd on the projector.
Hope to see you all there, it should be a magnificent end to the year.

We'll be continuing $2 buy-ins for Street Fighter IV, to be split 60/30/10 with the top 3 finalists. This will be split before the 8 man final ranking bracket as it will have it's own winners prize.

Full details on medals and prizes to be announced soon when confirmed.

Community Awards
This is something we've done for the last couple of years, but for those who came on board specifically for SFIV you probably won't have heard of this.
Each year we give out medals not only to the winner on the day as well as the ranking winner, but also two community voted awards, this year we are doing these ONLY for Street Fighter IV because it's been such an important draw card.

These awards are:
Most Improved - (This is for the player who made a significant improvement in their play over the course of the season)
Shenanigans - (This is for the player who pulled off the craziest stuff throughout the year, this should go to a comeback king, or someone who wins via impressive gimmicks, always pulls something crazy out, or is just all out fun to watch)

The important thing here is that these awards are voted by you!
We will be taking nominations for these two awards all the way up to the night before the big event and these will be presented at the end of the tournament with the winners medals.

All you have to do is send me a PM, either here or on the OzHadou boards, listing who you think should win each award for SFIV, and if you can, a reason why so I can announce it on the day. The person with the most votes wins, it's as simple as that.

So without further ado, get voting now!

If you do decide to hold a Tekken 6 Ranbat, I can supply a copy of the game for use. And anything else that you might need, I'd be happy to help with.

Hey Rame, that sounds good, if you guys are willing to come and run it that would be great, and a good chance to get it off the ground at our events.
As I mentioned before we can help you out with providing bracket sheets, some players and the venue but between the 3-4 games that we run on PS3/Xbox I'm not sure how much equipment we'll be able to provide, we might be able to wrangle a couple of screens depending on when it's run during the day, but you guys might have to bring consoles and sticks/controllers for yourselves too.
Is that doable?

We haven't worked out just yet exactly how much money we're throwing at this event, but I'll let you know soon when it's decided what you'll have to give away. You're more than welcome to organise anything yourself if you want extra stuff, but you'll at least have some medals and possibly other stuff from CW funds.

A bit of Bad News Loki. On that very day of the tournament the tekken scene is holding a tourney of their own. This was announced before I had a chance to tell them about a possible Tekken ranbat as apart of the CW BAM. If you do decide to hold the Tekken ranbat then you most likely will not have many community players participate. If you do decide to go through with it, I can try my best to see what I can do.

Hey dude, that's no problem, it's a shame but can't be avoided, there'll be plenty of other opportunities.

Perhaps it's best that we start the Tekken ranbats next year when the new season starts? That way we can run through the whole season and make a good showing of it.

man if you had those awards for bb i would have gotten like all of them

im gonna win the final round (pretty obvious, best player in aus by far, feri will lose to me)

i would have gotten shenanigans for my astral heat at bam and the amount of pink throw setups i have

and i would have got most improved (coming from not even playing bb at the start of the season to winning the end of the season as stated above)

i should get a consolation prize like a free ps3 or something

sounds about fair

good post redact

Well for the Tekken 6 Tourney, I'm trying to convince people to come, as well as Kayrant, we'll see how it goes. If I do make it, I can supply my copy of the game and maybe my Tekken 6 Arcade Stick hehe.

Ok, just keep in mind that the regular organisers and gear are going to be flat out with finals for the games we've been running all season, so if there is a Tekken comp throughout the day, the gear and the tournament organisers will need to be new, so no guarantees at this stage. :S

If there is an organiser coming that can lend at least one setup, then we'll have something happening.  At worst, we might have one casual setup going during the day.
