SFIV will be run on PS3 with arcade sticks available on request
Tournaments follow a double elimination format, with one 5 round match played up until the grand final, which is played as the winners finalist having 2 lives, and the losers finalist having one.

Important Notes
This month we'll be promoting the release of Tatsunoko vs Capcom in Australia with a tournament and prize giveaways through the day. We have 5 copies of the game to give away courtesy of THQ, so the top 3 winners will get a copy, as well as a door prize and something else we may decide on the day. In addition to this we have copies of the KARAS Collection to give away courtesy of Madman. Plus we'll also have a stack of other prizes from THQ and Madman so come on down and support the game and with any luck we'll be pushing to do something even bigger for the upcoming release of SSFIV in the very near future.

We'll be looking to improve the general quality of the event this year with projectors, a PA system, possible commentary and more, so people come on down and support this season as it promises to be big.
We'd also like to support more casuals for games like SFIV, but we need people to bring more equipment as it's difficult to juggle ranbats and casuals with the same gear. If people can bring down any setups, hopefully with monitors, but if that's all thats stopping you, let us know and we'll do our best to accomodate. Even if it's Xbox360 or whatever, it's all great to get more games in.

Why are you including Super Smash Bros Melee, but not Brawl?   Huh

Because good people actually play melee.

Fixed

So this one is sponsored by THQ hey?

The PA system sounds extremely helpful  Wink Is it only to be used for certain tournaments with a lot of participants though?

The TvC stuff will be sponsored by THQ, and possibly Madman, currently unconfirmed.
The PA will be used for whatever it's needed for on the day.

astrotoadp9: Which Smash goes ahead really isn't up to me unfortunately, Melee runs at these events, and Brawl runs at another at the moment. It goes back and forth a little. Different organisers, slightly different players.

Which event is that? also does it mean we're still able to bring Brawl, if we so choose? (although it won't be in a tournament or something) (it's my first time going so I really have no idea, please bear with my possible stupidity ^^;)

You're certainly welcome to bring it if you can either bring or find gear the play it on during the day. Obviously the TVs and consoles will first be going to any tournament play, which tends to go through the whole day, so I just can't guarantee for sure that it'll be possible to play it unless you bring all the stuff yourself.
The Brawl community is one that has thrived at CW events in the past, but has decided to split their competitions to separate events due to their own ambitions, so you'll find that most of the decicated Brawl players will be there, instead of at the event which still focuses on Melee.
You can check out the other events here - http://www.smashboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=125

Melee is included in place of Brawl because it's a very different game to Brawl - some of us feel Melee is a much better game, while others enjoy both. Brawl has two other independent tournament series run on a monthly basis while Melee has none, so the singles/ranbat event at CW is Melee (although you never know what KO will decide to run next lol). You can usually expect at least one Brawl event at CW, and in this event it will be a 2v2 "scrambled eggs" tournament early in the afternoon, so I'm sure bringing Brawl would be welcomed. More details on specifics at the CWers thread and the seperate Brawl events in the Australia subforum on Smashboards which Loki linked.

It's probably fair to say the poster should have the Brawl logo on it too (as well as the published lineup), since I will be running Brawl events at Couch Warriors. Resolves some confusion, although Brawl exclusive players will get more out of the other tournaments that are already mentioned.

Ahh ok np, I wasn't sure about that, so I left it out.
I'll update the poster later tonight when I get back on the PC.

Ahh, yes most likely, thanks for reminding me.
I need to get in contact with the guy who ran it at the end of last year and confirm them for this year, they're only not on the poster at the moment because I haven't confirmed that for sure yet.
