SSF4 on bigpond adsl problems

Hey Guys, so I've been trying to setup ssf4 online for ps3 and I've run into a few problems....

 If I try and do an automatic setup I can play online but I can only host games and not join them. I've googled a few tutorials for doing a manual setup by setting a static ip for the ps3 and then setting dmz as on whenever the ps3 ip address tries to access the router, but when I do that I always get "couldn't connect to dns server" error messages every time I try and check the connection.

 I'm just using the standard speedstream 4200 router that bigpond supplies, so I was wondering if anybody else uses bigpond adsl and has run into similar issues?

Manually add a dns entry in the settings.

ie:
208.67.222.222 (opendns)

didn't work so no money for you , It's strange I get the same error (dns error 80710102) so that solution should fix it according to various forums but it doesn't. I dunno what other reasons would cause that error
